Wright Park and The Mansion
Wright park
Howdy! In an hour’s ride, the guide will tour you in the neighboring barangays of Mines View and Outlook Drive. If the guide is quite kind and generous, he’ll lead you to an off road and a more adventurous track, it’s really fun and enjoyable.
Is riding a horse in Wright Park safe?
Generally it is. Expert guides and horse owners accompany riders everywhere at all times and they hold on to the horse’s reins (another rein is held by the rider). For more confident riders, leading the horse is quite easy, even if it’s your first time to ride, directing the horse is very simple. Tug your rein to the left when you want to go left and right when you want the horse to go right. Pull on the rope when you want it to stop and give it a little kick when you want the horse to go a little faster. (If you’re going to ride, try to ask the horse owners for a horse with a good saddle because if the saddle isn’t good, your butt will ache a little)
What does it feel like to ride a horse? And OK bang date ang horse backriding sa Wright Park?
Hanep, walastik, sobrang enjoy! And yes it’s a very fun way of spending a date. It really feels good to experience something kind of adventurous. Though the horses are very gentle, the feel of riding something that is powerful and fast is amazing, and speaking of fast, when you kick the horse or whip it a little to make it gallop or run, the experience is just exhilarating. It’s a real rush riding a horse that’s moving fast. Iba kung bike or motsiklo eh, dito feeling mo you’re some cowboy roaming wild and free, ang sarap ng feeling.
The last time we went horse back riding, there was this family who allowed their two young daughters to ride horses on their own. Wala silang guide and from how I looked at them, first time lang nila sumakay ng kabayo. After a round or two sa kanilang ride, pinatakbo na nila yung mga kabayo nila and it was amazing na ang babata nila, babae and first time sumakay eh nagawa na nila yun.
How to get to Wright Park:
Pacdal circle - eto na yung rotonda, pag nakarating na kayo dito a few meters na lang Wright Park na. Kunin nyo yung middle road of the three roads |
If you have already taken a first stop to Mines View, then finding Wright Park should not be a problem since it is along the way. However, when your sole destination is Wright Park alone and you’re commuting, take a Mines View jeepney. The current jeepney fare is 8.50 pesos (minimum fare). Passing through General Luna Road, the jeepney will then reach Pacdal Circle or the “rotunda” and shortly after, you’ll see the horses, you can signal the driver to stop and he’ll stop at a designated place. You will have to cross the street and immediately, guides and horse owners will greet you and offer their services.
The Mansion
This is of course the president’s home here in the North. It is the biggest, grandest and most protected home in Baguio City. It is a very quiet and calm place despite of barangays very near by. Just minutes from Mines View and Write Park, you have to see the Mansion and take pictures, it will be a great souvenir to display in your homes.
What’s to see in The Mansion?
You only get go in as far as a few meters from the main gate. Mostly ganun hanggang dun lang pinapayagan, may guard dun na mula sa Philippine Army na very friendly and helpful. I don’t know if there’s ever been a time where tourists were allowed to go near the Mansion. The garden and The Mansion itself is great to see, having your pictures taken with it as the background is really cool.
Across the Mansion is man made pond which is like fifty or plus meters long. There are fishes here too which people feed with crumbs and crackers. Diretsohin nyo lang yung pond and may makikita kayong maliit na park of sorts na may magagandang structure. Ganda din mag posing dito for pictures.
And still going further, diretso lang and makikita na ninyo yung stairs pababa ng Wright Park. Here you can rent horses for as much as two hundred pesos for a thirty minute ride and three hundred naman kung one hour.
Eto yung mahabang hagdan na nagdudugtong sa The Mansion at Wright Park. Mas magandang unahing bumisita sa The Mansion kasi pababa ka, so hindi nakakapagod kumpara kung mauna ka sa Wright Park tapos paakyat.
It's great to take pictures here most especially when you're practicing your skills (unfortunately I seem to not have that as seen in my photos hehehe, look at the photos of The Mansion by my friend Bryan below. Ang layo ng diperensya ng kuha hehehe). Here in these stairs, famous TV shows such as TGIS, Ang TV and movies like Bagets were shot.
with a great camera.
What can you do while visiting the Mansion?
Baguio is a romantic place and going to the Mansion to take a walk and just talk is a beautiful moment itself. It’s really relaxing to stroll near The Mansion because it’s so peaceful and quiet and you are surrounded by nature.
You can polish and develop your photography skills while visiting The Mansion. There are details here that can really capture the attention.

He’s a nurse pero he has developed a liking for photography and chose The Mansion as a subject. These pictures are great I must say. Parang kuha na ng professional and kung titignan mo mas inilabas nya yung art and kagandahan ng isang bagay. Sa ordinaryong mata sa ordinaryong lakad parang simpleng lugar lamang ang The Mansion at mga katabing lugar pero gaya nga ng sabi ko magandang mag practice and magdevelop ng kakayahan sa potograpiya dito sa The Mansion.

This is the main gate of the president's home. The Mansion is beautiful and the whole community is peaceful and calm. Barangays are just nearby, as a matter of fact there's a basketball court just a few meters away from The Mansion pero nakakabilib na ang tahimik and ang linis.
Bryan made a great shot here. Look at the angle ng pag picture nya, kung ako lang di ko maiisip na maganda pala kung paganito or paganun ang angle ng shot. You can almost feel the atmosphere and how it is to be there with these pictures. Galing mo talaga Bryan, idol kita hehehe.
