Mines View Park: Ganda sa Mines View

Mines View Park

What’s to see in Mines View Park?

The landscape is simply beautiful. Rows and rows of mountains stretch as far as the eye can see. From here, you’ll see boondocks that have become communities because of rich deposits of gold and copper. The viewing deck is quite high and the mild cool winds blow right by as you view the scenery.

There are many stores that sell native products and souvenirs in Mines View.

Beside Mines View Park are stores where you can buy native products and souvenirs as well as "japorms" na mga shirts and other memorabilia

How do you get to Mines View?

Driving is easy. There’s no traffic and you’ll admire the freshness of scenery as you drive along the road. From the city proper, you’ll have to drive to Leonard Wood Road. Madadaanan nyo ang Teacher’s Camp, Pacdal at Wright Park. Pagdating sa Pacdal Circle, o yung rotunda, kunin nyo yung gitnang daan dahil may tatlong kalsadang pagpipiliian. When you see the horses, you’ll know you’re on the right road.

If you’re going to commute, you can take a jeepney or a taxi, the latter is quite expensive. Just check the name or the designation of the jeepney, you might be riding a different one.

The nice thing about going to this Baguio tourist spot is that there are so many other nice places near it. You can walk and reach The Mansion in less than 15 minutes. Good Shepherd is a nice place to visit din because it’s so peaceful and calm. Diretsohin nyo yung pond ng The Mansion and you’ll find stairs leading to Wright Park. A little further past the Pacdal Circle or “rotunda” is the Baguio Botanical Garden, this too is a quiet and nice place to take a walk, daming mga bagong attractions na ginawa.

Magandang pumunta dito sa Mines View kung mamamsyal kayong mag anak o mag date dahil:

1. Magkakalapit ang mga Baguio tourist spots.
2. Mura ang pamasahe ng jeep, madaling mag commute, madaling hanapin ang mga lugar, as in lakad lakad lang kayo while holding hands ganun.
3. Mura at OK ang food.
5. Madaming matututunang bagong bagay. Enjoy talaga.

Mines View Added Attractions:

1. it’s a great place to pick hotels to stay in or have lunch, dinner or coffee. There are many of them here with reasonable prices and as I said, the view is just fantastic, dining out in hotels’ cafes is refreshing.

2. You can ride a pony and have your picture taken. The down side is that you can’t ride it around (just for picture taking lang talaga) and the fee is quite expensive, last time I went, it was some 20 pesos but with multiple picture shots and poses.

3. There are St Bernard dogs that are so cute and gentle. They sometimes wear native costumes and shades and you can take pictures with them for a very cheap price. Also, there are natives who lend you costumes and allow you to take pictures of them for a very reasonable price. They are Igorots who have a rich culture and are very proud to share their customs.

4. There’s a public market of sorts in Mines View. Here, you can shop for antiques, woodcrafts, wall decors, paintings, woven materials, T shits and other ethnic decors and objects. The prices are very reasonable and you can rarely see these products anywhere else.

Mines View is a place you must go to when you're in Baguio. It's a landmark of the City that shows much of the culture of the Cordillerans.
